Job Summary

PPI Quality & Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Associate to support a full spectrum of finance operations. This role provides critical support across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general ledger functions to ensure accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced environment. Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid: 3 days in office / 2 days remote) Status: Full-Time - Salary / Exempt

About the role

Accounts Payable & Expense Management
• Process invoices, vendor payments (ACH, wires, checks), and 3-way matching.
• Maintain vendor master data and resolve inquiries promptly.
• Audit employee expense reports and administer corporate credit card allocations.

 

General Ledger & Month-End Close
• Prepare and book monthly recurring journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank, intercompany, and domestic cash reconciliations.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and roll-forward schedules.
• Amortize prepaid accounts and assist with the preparation of financial statements.

 

Compliance & Reporting
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and assist with internal/external audits.
• Run standard and ad hoc financial reports or KPIs using ERP systems.
• Update tax calculation schedules and ensure general ledger integrity.
• Identify and implement process improvements for accounting workflows.

Do you have what it takes?

Education & Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: 1–3 years of professional accounting experience.
• Industry: Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
• Systems: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and experience with ERP systems like NetSuite, SAP, or Deltek Vision.
