Job Summary
NQA has an exciting opportunity for a General Ledger Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will deliver accurate and timely financial reporting through balance sheet reconciliations, journal postings, intercompany accounting, and financial analysis. You’ll play a key role in the month-end close process, working collaboratively across the Finance function to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. NQA provides accredited certification, training and support services to help customers improve processes, performance and products and services. We have issued over 50,000 certificates to clients in over 90 countries resulting in a yearly revenue of around 100 million Euro. NQA was acquired by Kiwa in 2024, a global leader in the Testing, Inspecting and Certification (TIC) sector, based in the Netherlands.About the role
- Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts.
- Prepare daily and weekly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare intercompany fees in accordance with transfer pricing policies.
- Compile and distribute intercompany balances for reporting.
- Post month end journals in accordance with month end timetable.
- Review general ledger coding, identify and resolve adjustments needed prior to month end close.
- General ledger account analysis, reporting on trends and budget variances.
- Support the year end audit by preparing lead schedules and provide supporting documentation.
- Prepare disclosure information for group reporting and external bodies.
- Ad hoc projects as required.

Essential Criteria:
- Experience in a similar general ledger or accounting role.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative team play who works effectively with colleagues.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
- Understanding of transfer pricing requirements.
- Accountancy qualification.
What can you expect from us in return?
- £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
- 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday, hybrid role (2 days in the office per week)
