Medium Voltage Test Engineer

Job Summary

BASEC, part of the Kiwa group, is seeking a Medium Voltage Test Engineer to join their team based in Dubai. In this role, you'll perform Medium Voltage (MV) electrical and materials testing, supervise sample preparations, and ensure the delivery of high-quality testing services to both internal and external BASEC customers.

About the role

• Schedule and perform MV cable electrical sequence and materials testing according to various international MV cable standards (BS/IEC/ID, etc). 
• Ensure test procedures, standards and safety requirements are followed correctly to maintain accreditation. 
• Supervise and guide Cable Preparation Technicians to ensure accurate sample preparation.
• Review and authorise test reports, investigate test failures, and support corrective actions.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure tools are calibrated and in excellent condition.
• Manage workload efficiently, coordinating with colleagues to maximise laboratory resources.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including new testing methods, procedures, and 5S practices.
• Participate in internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as needed.

Do you have what it takes?

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical) or Science, or equivalent.
• Proven experience within an MV cable testing environment. 
• Proficiency in using laboratory testing tools and instrumentation.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Resilient, dynamic, and results-driven with strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

What can you expect from us in return?

• Salary AED 142,000 – 147,000 per annum
• 45 hours per week - This is a lab-based role, located in Dubai
