Job Summary
PPI Quality & Engineering is a global provider of quality assurance and inspection services supporting the energy industry, and is expanding its Quality Control team with experienced QC Specialists. In this role, you will perform and witness inspections and testing activities to ensure compliance with industry codes, customer specifications, and PPI Quality & Engineering procedures. You will verify equipment calibration, confirm technician certifications, and produce clear, accurate inspection reports that support informed decision-making. Acting as the customer’s representative at supplier and fabrication sites, you will promote safe work practices, communicate inspection results to project coordinators and stakeholders, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional who values precision, accountability, and operational excellence in quality execution.About the role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Specialist with a strong background in OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) manufacturing to support operations at the Tenaris facility in Zalău, Romania.
This role is responsible for witnessing manufacturing processes, inspections, and testing activities to ensure full compliance with industry standards, company requirements, and third-party inspection protocols.
Key Responsabilities:
- Witness OCTG manufacturing processes and related inspection/testing activities
- Ensure compliance with inspection test plans, quality plans, industry standards, and company/supplier requirements
- Verify that all inspection, measurement, and test equipment is properly calibrated, certified, and fit for purpose
- Review and validate quality documentation and test results
- Generate detailed reports documenting inspection outcomes, including acceptance and rejection findings
- Coordinate professionally with suppliers regarding scheduling, deliveries, and overall job execution
- Complete contractor in-house training and certification program as required
Do you have what it takes?
- Minimum 3 years of experience in quality control within OCTG manufacturing
- Strong technical understanding of OCTG operations and manufacturing processes
- Thorough knowledge of industry quality standards, codes, and third-party inspection processes
- Ability to interpret inspection and test plans (ITPs) and quality documentation
- Experience generating detailed inspection and quality reports
- Strong communication and coordination skills when working with suppliers and stakeholders
- Experience with Tenaris Silcotub is preferred but not required
- Professional, detail-oriented, and able to work independently on-site
