Job Summary

Kiwa Fire Safety Compliance has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Fire Safety Engineer to join our growing Fire Safety Engineering team. This is a fantastic role for an experienced fire engineer looking to take the next step in their career. You’ll be part of a supportive and diverse consultancy team, working on a wide range of projects across sectors. About the role

  • Lead and manage fire safety engineering projects, ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers, including mentoring and reviewing reports.
  • Assess building designs for compliance with fire safety legislation and develop fire strategies in collaboration with design teams.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through direct correspondence and meetings with clients, design teams, and statutory authorities.
  • Take responsibility for your contribution to the team financial performance and meeting targets set.
  • Provide input on detailed design and construction information as part of the design process.
  • Attend site inspections as required as part of project delivery responsibilities.
  • Support your line manager and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Take ownership of your professional development, with a minimum of 25 hours of CPD annually, supported by the company.
  • Progression within this role may include line management responsibilities of Fire Engineers and Graduate Engineers.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Hold a Level 7 qualification in Fire Engineering or equivalent (e.g. Master’s degree) with significant relevant industry experience.
  • Membership of a professional body such as IFE, CABE, or CIBSE, with a commitment to achieving IEng or CEng status.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety standards, legislation, and engineering principles.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and teams, with excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • The ability to perform advanced tasks typically without significant supervision.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to travel as required and operate in accordance with safe systems of work.
  • Trusted to handle confidential information and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and forward-thinking workplace.

What can you expect from us in return?

  • £60,000 - £69,000 per annum
