Job Summary
IFC Certification is looking for a Senior Smoke Control Inspector to join their growing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for carrying out installer certification scheme activities through audits, site inspections, technical reviews, and client support. This is a home-based role with regular travel to client offices and sites across the UK.About the role
- Plan and manage daily activities involving administration, auditing, inspections, and reporting.
- Liaise with clients regarding office systems and site installation requirements for installer certification.
- Conduct initial and surveillance audits in line with BS EN ISO 17065 and IFCC scheme requirements.
- Perform site inspections in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020 and specific client requirements.
- Compile and report inspection findings to the required standards.
- Review installer audit reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Complete contract and technical reviews of client applications.
- Develop and maintain audit checklists for existing and new certification schemes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide team support and cross-coverage.
This position may offer the opportunity to progress into a Scheme Manager role.
Do you have what it takes?
- Proven experience in a technical or quality control role within a certification/inspection body, fire protection manufacturer, or installation contractor.
- Hands-on experience conducting FPC, ISO, or similar audits.
- Background in the fire protection or a related industry is advantageous.
- Proven experience in managing and motivating direct reports.
- Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet targets.
- A good working knowledge of BS EN ISO/IEC 17065 and BS EN ISO/IEC 17020.
- Full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel frequently and work irregular hours.
What can you expect from us in return?
- £65,000 - £70,000 per annum
