USA - PPI Quality Control (QC) Specialist

Job Summary

Kiwa PPI is a global provider of quality assurance and inspection services supporting the energy industry is seeking an experienced Advanced Material Inspector to provide high-criticality quality assurance oversight for the manufacturing of 6 km of Submerged Arc Welded (DSAW) line pipe at Eisenbau Krämer GmbH in Kreuztal, Germany. This scope covers fatigue-sensitive and strain-based design sections of the subsea escarpment crossing for the Rovuma LNG Project, with a criticality level equivalent to a deepwater production riser.

About the role

Location: Kreuztal, Germany (On-site / Shift-based — Local candidates only) 

Contract Type: Consultant / 1099 — Adhoc

Schedule & Duration: Fabrication scheduled from December 4, 2026, to July 30, 2027

(PPM/PIM scheduled for November 17, 2026)

 

• Work Authorization: Must possess a valid EU passport or work permit allowing legal employment in Germany without employer sponsorship.

• Location & Proximity: Must reside within daily commuting distance of the facility in Kreuztal, Germany (or be willing to relocate independently prior to the start date).

 

Responsibilities

• Provide quality assurance and manufacturing oversight for DSAW Line Pipe production (Lines 22–26) in strict compliance with DNV-ST-F101 (2021) and project specifications.

• Oversee Manufacturing Procedure Qualification Tests (MPQT), line pipe offshore installation weld procedure qualifications, and production testing.

• Monitor precision end-machining processes required to meet stringent riser-type dimensional tolerances for fatigue-sensitive line pipe sections.

• Conduct shift-based quality inspection, reporting non-conformances, vendor compliance, and QA milestones to project leadership.

• Work closely with the Quality Manager and vendor engineering/production teams to ensure schedule adherence and total compliance.

 

Do you have what it takes?

Minimum Requirements

• Proven API 5L Experience: Strong background and extensive practical experience with API 5L line pipe manufacturing and inspection standards.

• DSAW & Subsea Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Double Submerged Arc Welded (DSAW) pipe, fatigue-sensitive strain-based design, and DNV-ST-F101 standards.

• High-Criticality Inspection Background: Prior experience inspecting high-criticality subsea materials, deepwater production risers, or complex offshore pipeline components.

• Location & Availability: Ability to work shift rotations on-site at the vendor facility in Kreuztal, Germany, starting in early December 2026.

• Languages: Professional working proficiency in English (German language skills are an asset).
