Switching to Kiwa: Seamlessly transfer your certification

Do you want to switch to Kiwa while currently certified by another certification body? This can be done easily and without interruption of your certificate. Below you can read how the transfer process works and what benefits it offers you.

Can I just switch to Kiwa?

Yes, you can switch any time, even right after an audit. You do not need to wait until the expiry date of your current certificate. We can take over your existing certification, with your certificate continuing uninterrupted and retaining the same expiry date. Your first audit with Kiwa will then be the next regular audit in your existing certification cycle, such as a surveillance or recertification audit. You can also opt for a new certification with an initial audit, but this is not necessary when switching.

This transfer is possible for, among others:

    • Cost savings, as a lengthy initial audit is not required
  • The timing of your audit remains the same within the year, but adjustments can be made in consultation.

How does switching work?

Your certification is transferred via a transfer review. This is an assessment of your current certificate and audit reports, including the closure of any non-conformities (NCs). This review ensures Kiwa can take over your certification without risk. In most cases, this transfer proceeds smoothly. After approval, you will receive a Kiwa certificate with the same scope and expiry date as your current certificate.

Step-by-step plan for switching to Kiwa:

  • Submit your application to Kiwa and indicate you want to transfer your existing certification.
