Sjoerd Jansma about High pressure Hydrogen (Presentation PPXX)
The use of hydrogen gas is widely seen as a key component of the current energy transition. Sjoerd Jansma of Kiwa presents the high-pressure hydrogen permeation testing of a spoolable reinforced thermoplastic pipe (RTP, also known as Thermoplastic Composite Pipes (TCP) or Flexible Composite Pipes) system and the testing of the chemical resistance to hydrogen of the piping materials. Two different approaches were used to determine the permeation rate: 1) combining single layer permeation measurements, and 2) permeation measurements on the entire system.
This is a pre-recorded presentation for the XXth International Plastic Pipes Conference and Exhibition held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands for September 6 – 8, 2021.
Kiwa and Hydrogen
With extensive hydrogen testing facilities (state of the art across Europe and UK), and expert hydrogen certification and consultancy teams, Kiwa has a unique standpoint when it comes to hydrogen.
