Testing Instead of Replacing
During maintenance of sprinkler systems, the replacement date of sprinkler heads is typically checked. If that date has passed, the standard requires replacement. However, the new harmonization agreement 2025-01 – Replacement of Sprinklers During Operational Use offers flexibility: if a sample test shows that the sprinkler heads still function effectively, replacement is not necessary. It must be documented when the next sample test will take place.
