Grower visits
Receive a quote tailored to your needs
In addition to individual growers, growers associations can also use Kiwa to monitor the quality of the products of the growers affiliated to the association. Based on the agreed protocol, Kiwa periodically visits the cultivation companies. These are usually unannounced visits during which the batches ready for delivery are tested against the (customer) specifications that apply.
Making adjustments to deliver the desired quality is often part of the assignment to Kiwa. In the case of orders from growers associations, Kiwa can be given the mandate to formally reject products/batches if they do not meet specific requirements. In addition to a visual assessment of the external and internal quality and the presence of diseases and defects, other aspects can also be checked, such as sizing, content weight, hardness, °Brix, palletization and indications.
All findings of the assessments at cultivation companies are digitally registered and fed back in reports for the client of Kiwa. They are stored in a database, so that the data can also be used for trend analyzes and mutual comparisons by means of dashboards. GMO-recognized growers associations may be eligible for a number of the Kiwa activities mentioned.

Shelf life study/benchmark
Fruit and vegetable companies can turn to Kiwa for the quality assessment of products during a fixed period under specific conditions. This shelf life check provides insight into how the quality of products develops over time. This can also be done in a benchmark in which comparable products of different origin, variety, suppliers and in different packaging are compared with each other.
Vendor ratings
As an independent third party, Kiwa can determine the quality of fresh produce in distribution centers (DCs) and shops for retailers, including by means of periodic visits (monitoring). During the visits, the fresh produce are (visually) assessed and tested against (purchase) specifications. In addition, each assessment is assigned a quality mark.
