Product certification
A certificate proves that a product or service meets certain safety, quality or environmental requirements. This gives consumers confidence that they are making the right choice by purchasing this product or service. Manufacturers use product certification to strengthen their position in the market.
Testing a product and making sure it complies to relevant standards is an important step for manufacturers who want to bring a product to the global market. Regulations regarding product certification can vary from country to country. Kiwa facilitates an extensive portfolio of approval and testing services for product certification. CE marking
CE marking is not a certification. Still, it is important for bringing your products to the European market. The EU has defined more than twenty product groups for which CE marking applies. The legal requirements are described in guidelines and regulations.
Kiwa is fully notified and accredited to test and certify your products for the European market. Having labs in many countries (and expanding) we are in a position to offer services on a local basis.
UKCA marking
The new UK product safety marking UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) is used for goods being placed on the UK market. It covers most goods which previously required the CE marking. The UKCA marking came into effect on 1 January 2021. Businesses are able to use the CE marking until 1 January 2023 in most cases. Kiwa’s testing laboratories can provide UKCA mark guidance on gas, solid fuel, electrical and electronic appliances.
