As an authority in energy and water distribution, Kiwa has been involved in testing and certifying materials used in gas, water and other pipeline systems for years. Kiwa's material experts have accumulated a wealth of experience, utilized in residual lifetime and failure assessments, resulting in a well-equipped material research laboratory that serves the entire energy and water sector.
Kiwa has recently become an official partner of Green Team Twente. This racing team, consisting of students from the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences, has been building hydrogen cars since 2011 and has previously participated in the Shell Eco-Marathon. Green Team Twente is now focusing on developing a hydrogen race car for the Formula Student. Kiwa supports Green Team Twente with risk analyses.
More and more manufacturers of hydrogen tanks and components are busy setting up mass production to be a part of the important role hydrogen is set to play in fuelling our economy. As one of the global leaders in hydrogen testing, we recently added an important new test method to our portfolio at the Kiwa Automotive Lab in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.
Both Japan and the Netherlands have a strong interest in hydrogen as a clean energy source and are working on its development and implementation. What are the strengths of both countries?
